The German music colleges presented remarkable interdisciplinary projects developed by their students in Berlin. Under the artistic leadership of Prof. Dr. Sebastian Nordmann, musicians and audiences were invited to leave the traditions of the classical music scene behind and engage with new approaches and experiences of classical and contemporary repertoire.
The students developed site-specific productions for the venues in Konzerthaus Berlin, Hamburger Bahnhof – Museum für Gegenwart – Berlin and Musikinstrumenten – Museum Berlin, Giving audiences the chance to understand see well-known pieces from a different perspective.
In January 2017 musical contributions were made by Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt am Main, Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg and Universität der Künste Berlin. There was also a project shown by STEGREIF - the improvising symphony orchestra, which is a collective of students enrolled in different music colleges.
